Undergraduate Degrees in Healthcare

Overview

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, healthcare is one of the largest industries in America and will generate 2.3 million new jobs over the next 10 years (BLS.gov). The factor that is driving this growth is the aging baby boomer population, who will begin demanding increased medical care over the next five years. A variety of undergraduate programs provide access to this highly rewarding and challenging industry. Traditional pre-med degrees include biology, ecology, chemistry, and physiology. These individuals will be required to pursue additional graduate level education. For those who desire careers in social work, health management, and nursing, undergraduate degrees should be sufficient.
